I dropped my work off for the LAA Winter Show last week. The exhibit was hung over the weekend and I got to see it today. One piece already sold! Luckily I had my camera with me so I was able to snap a few pics before any more disappear.

Once again, the Lapeer Art Association (LAA) opened up their annual Spring Show at Gallery 194 to non-member artists (last year was the first time.) And once again I applied and ended up with 5 paintings in the exhibit.
There was a very nice turnout at the reception this past Saturday. My usual date, my husband, was not available so I went alone. Which of course is fine, I'm certainly not a stranger there no matter who else is there. But then I was pleasantly surprised when my sister-in-law Aileen and her daughter-in-law Allison showed up! So nice of them to make the trip down from Bridgeport. Good conversation, art, wine, food - an all-around fun evening. p.s. Sharon Samyn's bridge painting, the large one on the far left of the 3rd photo below, blew me away! As did several other pieces. And then there was a blue wolf ... ?? Check out LAA's blog for more. |
